Panda Research is a really sleek survey program I tried earlier this year and really liked. They have a frequently updated database of surveys and offers that need some input from regular consumers like you. They contact you from time to time with simple emails explaining the survey offer, and if you want to participate, you just click the link in the email to go right to the survey. All of the surveys are web-based, so you aren’t stuck on a 15-minute phone call. You can take part from home, the coffee shop, the library, or anywhere that you have Internet connection.
Incentives for online surveys are usually in the form of cash, product samples or gift certificates. The type and amount of incentive vary from $5 to $35 or more and are based on the type and size of survey as well as how specific the survey profile is. Some companies are looking for input from a very specific segment of the population, so they are willing to pay more for those very specific survey takers. Sometimes, there are surveys in which no incentive is offered at all, but the surveys are still fun to take. You might just be entered in a drawing for prizes instead of every survey taker getting a reward. But even that is cool too.
In the few months that I tested Panda Research, I made about $300 and got a basket full of free goodies, samples and prizes. I really enjoyed the service and was able to take surveys as I had the time. I’ve recommended it to my friends and family, and I think my mom is well on her way to earning enough cash for her very first iPod. Pretty cool!
